Flying Visits to Peter Pan

Academics from Beijing fly in for Peter Pan visit

People are flying in from all over the globe to catch The Dukes’ production of Peter Pan in Williamson Park this summer.

Visitors to the now world-famous park show have been booking tickets from France, Germany, Spain and even as far away as Japan and China.

A group of academics from the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) also visited last week as part of a partnership programme with Lancaster University. Led by the Dean of School, 12 senior academics from the School of English and International studies enjoyed a summer’s evening in the park with a visit to The Dukes and a talk from Director Joe Sumsion beforehand.

BFSU is Lancaster University’s oldest and closest partner in the P.R of China. It is arguably the most prestigious language university in China with its graduates working in Chinese Embassies the whole world over. Over 200 undergraduates have come to Lancaster from BFSU over the last 10 years.

Peter Pan is selling fast and as there are only a few tickets available for the final week, early booking is strongly recommended.

The show runs until Saturday 7 August. Tickets cost £11 - £18.50 and can be booked from The Dukes Box Office on 01524 598500 or www.dukes-lancaster.org.
