A virtual tour of The Dukes Lancaster

The Dukes is a dual-purpose building. The same auditorium is used for theatrical productions and cinema. The cinema screen is placed at the front of the stage and easily removed when necessary.

Upstairs in the cinema projection room to view the main projector, note the red light on the Dolby sound system. I was surprised to see that the film was on horizontal reels, unlike my father's old 8mm system where the reels were vertical. However, when you see the size of the reels you can easily understand why they are not vertical, you would need a ladder to put them onto the projector!
