Boot
Boot is a small village, about 10km (6 miles) north east of Ravenglass. It's at the end of the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, the station is called Dalegarth and has a turntable, there's a tea shop and good parking at the station. You can combine a trip on the railway with a steamer trip on Lake Windermere by taking the train, it stops very conveniently at the quay - a reminder that travel used to be integrated.
There is an old watermill dating from the 1500s, this mill has two wheels - that's very unusual. The mill is in working condition and run by a preservation trust. Overall a very interesting place to visit.
